MycoBite 4: How many mycotoxins should you analyse?

Welcome to the fourth episode of MycoBites. In this series of six episodes, Dr. Swamy Haladi, Global Technical Commercial Manager for Selko's Mycotoxin Risk Management programme will touch upon various aspects related to mycotoxin analysis.

In this episode, Dr. Swamy Haladi answers the question 'How many mycotoxins should you analyse?'.

20 years ago we only analysed samples for Aflatoxins, and in the years that followed, this expanded to what is now known as the 'Big 6' mycotoxins. However, it did not end there. Today, we know of more than 600 different mycotoxins. But can, and should, we analyse them all?
